It always astounds me when people speak with the confidence to say, “this is what we must to do ‘fix’ our schools”. The fact of the matter is that there is no one way to meet the needs of all our students. The best place to start is by a) set a vision of high expectation for all students and staff b) assess the current situation vis a vis the vision set forth. You can then begin to implement a model like PRESS (Purpose, Relation, Expectation, Steps, Support) Forward, to move in a direction that actually addresses the needs of students. Don’t let the need to do something lead you to do just anything. More harm than good can come from short sighted actions. Make sure what you plan to do relates to a specific need. http://ow.ly/TjjsV
